Our Mission

The Border Collie Club of Arizona was formed on June 27, 2008. We are dedicated to preserving and enhancing the integrity of this remarkable breed through responsible breeding and ownership. Our club will sponsor a broad spectrum of activities in which border collies excel, including herding, obedience, agility, conformation, tracking, canine good citizenship, flyball, and therapy dogs. We are AKC accredited and now working through the process of qualifying for American Kennel Club licensing, which will enable us to hold AKC licensed events.

Gail is also Arizona Border Collie Rescue’s Vice President.  They try to work cooperatively with anyone else who may have an interest in border collies, including some of the all breed rescues.  There are other groups in Arizona that do some rescuing of border collies. They also keep contact with the other breed specific rescues for herding dogs (Cactus Corgi, AZ Corgi Rescue, New Hope Cattledog, AZ Cattledog, Aussies and Friends, AZ Sheltie, etc.), since they’re sometimes dealing with mixes of herding breeds (particularly BCs and Aussies).  ABCR is the only 501c3 non-profit, tax exempt organization doing border collie breed specific rescue in Arizona.
